Glenn Hoyle lives and works from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.
Glenn works full time as an artist producing magnificent paintings day in & day out. He is also an art teacher & conducts art classes at the Peninsula Art Society & at the McClelland Art Gallery on the Mornington Peninsula.
Born in Lancashire, England (1951) Glenn Hoyle always loved to draw and paint and at the age of fifteen he enrolled at the Rochadale College of Art to study art from 1966 to 1969. After working as a commercial artist, he travelled extensively throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and arrived on the shores of Australia in the mid seventies for a working holiday. Eventually in 1981 he returned to live in Melbourne permanently.
It was here that Glenn first thought about painting full time so he joined the Peninsula Art Society, entered art shows and exhibited in local galleries. His first solo exhibition was a great success with every painting being sold.
Since 1989 Glenn has worked as a professional artist and is a much saught after tutor conduting classes in oils and watercolours at the Peninsula Art Society & the McClelland Guild of Artists, plus workshops and demonstrations throughout Victoria. Glenn has won over 75 awards including two at the prestigious Camberwell Art Show in 2008 and 2011.
Glenn’s work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions and group shows. He has won many painting awards and is a member of art societies such as the Victorian Artists Society, The Sherbrooke Art Society, The Peninsula Art Society & the Australian Guild of Realist Artists.
Glenn’s work can be viewed at his studio in Langwarrin, the Ecliptic Gallery in Armadale, Original Oz in Mount Martha and the Sherbrooke Art Society in Belgrave, Victoria. Glenn’s work is also available to view online at www.glennhoyleartist.com and www.novogalleries.com
Working in oils, acrylics, watercolour and pastels, Glenn strives to capture the effect of light on this treasured land and coastline of ours.
The love of horses can be seen in many of his paintings especially in the way the equine beauty is portrayed enhancing the rural settings of the Australian countryside.
Always willing to pass on his knowledge of art to others, Glenn has successfully conducted art classes at his studio since 1989 and is currently teaching at the Peninsula Art Society.
Today Glenn Hoyle’s paintings are very much sought-after and are represented in private collections throughout Australia and overseas.
